Theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2021 is……”Build The Future”

The aptly named theme “Build the Future” is to shine a spotlight on employers and how they Train, Retain and Achieve the required outcome with Apprenticeships.

There is lots going on during National Apprenticeship Week 2021 and offers many opportunities for you to get involved either as an employer or apprentice showcasing your experience as an apprentice you could even share your story as Life As An Apprentice.

As the name suggests “Build the Future” the next National Apprenticeship Week which will take place between Feb 8th and Feb 14th 2021 and will focus on how apprenticeships help to develop individuals in building the right skills and knowledge for their future careers.

Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills Gillian Keegan

Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills, Gillian Keegan was quoted as saying:

“Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to learn while you earn, opening up new and exciting career paths that can transform lives. It’s been a tough year for everyone, but we want the theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2021 to be a springboard to look ahead to how apprenticeships can futureproof workforces and boost careers.”

Gillian goes on to say:

“The week is a great opportunity to highlight the huge range of apprenticeships on offer – from Space Engineer to Registered Nurse. There are currently around 7,000 apprenticeship opportunities available on the Find An Apprenticeship website which will benefit individuals, businesses and local communities. I encourage everyone to get involved and help make it a success.”

14th consecutive year for National Apprenticeship Week

As previous mentioned this will be the 14th consecutive year that National Apprenticeship Week has been running and they’ve all been great. However this year will be different due to recent global events of the pandemic, which will put a spin on the event in February next year.

Without a glass ball it is difficult to anticipate just exactly where we will be with regards to restrictions, so most events may be run remotely using technology to run online events. But in our opinion being able to run a national event in this way will demonstrate just how many  employers and training providers plus apprentices have had to adapt to the way they work apprenticeships and train their apprentices including online tutorials and training.

The 14th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships, taking place across England, will showcase the impact apprenticeships can have on communities, local businesses and regional economies and how they all benefit from the impact of apprenticeships.

So with this in mind NAW2021 will celebrate these accomplishments and demonstrate to others how they can still achieve the outcomes they need by using technology and thinking outside the box.

The three main topic areas for the “Build the Future” theme will be:

TRAIN - RETAIN - ACHIEVE

If you want to get involved with National Apprenticeship Week and help promote the benefits of apprenticeships across England their are great tools to help you get started on the Gov website. NAW2021 Toolkit
