The Top 100 Apprentice Employers of 2020 announced!
Last week the Top 100 apprentice employers for 2020 list was announced and we thought we would give you a quick run down of the top 10 apprentice employers in England.
Each year the Education and Skills Funding Agency collate a list of the Englands leading apprenticeship employers, the list consists of 100 top apprentice employers from all across England. The list of apprentice employers covers almost every industry sector from Engineering, Banking to Retail and Charitable organisations.

The top spot for Apprentice Employer of the year 2020 went to the British Army. The British Army currently employ of 8,000 apprentices across all ages groups helping individuals train in numerous fields such as Engineering, Telecoms, IT and Logistics to name a few. Their support and commitment for Army apprenticeships is outstanding and it’s no wonder they secured the top spot of Apprentice Employer of the year 2020.
Gillian Keegan the Apprenticeships and Skills Minister was quoted as saying:
“A huge congratulations to all those businesses featured in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers rankings. It is fantastic to see the British Army recognised for its incredible support for apprentices and the apprenticeships programme.”
Over 400 employers were nominated for the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year 2020, so to finish in the top 100 Apprentice Employers in England is such a great achievement and as an employer you should be so proud of your success and commitment to apprenticeships. The list was compiled and independently assess in partnership with High Fliers Research.
Boris Johnson also commented on the success:
“High-quality apprenticeships give people from all backgrounds and ages a real choice in life, providing them with the skills employers value, which our economy needs, and which lead to better paid jobs.”
To finish first on the list is such a great achievement for the British Army, but to also finish in the Top 10 Apprentice Employers is just as great in our opinion, especially out of 400 apprenticeship employer nominations:
